Candles care and safety

Though our handmade, bespoke, and luxury candles collection intend to evoke memories and comfort, there are certain things to keep in mind while ensuring candle care and leaving open flame. We have garnered foremost guidelines to keep you posted about candle care and safety.

  • Trim your wick before burning
  • To avoid uneven burning or flaring of wax like a mushroom shape, trim your wick after each burn to keep it at 5 mm or at least ¼ inch above the wax's surface. Although wick trimmers are best, sharp scissors and clean nail clippers can also be used to trim the candle’s wick.

  • Ensure safety while burning candles
  • Always burn candles in a secure ambiance away from children, pets, and combustible materials. Burning on a flat, heat-resistant surface is advisable to evade an accident such as cracking. Never leave burning candles unattended, and make certain the candle is completely out and the wick ember isn’t glowing before leaving the place.

  • Know the burn time
  • The best burn time is considered until the liquid wax reaches the edges of the candle stand and the wick is completely burned. In general, this stage occurs at around 2-3 hours each time you light the candle. Our finest collection of candles give a good burn of 4 hours at a time.

Note: Burning your candle any longer than it has reached the stage of the full melt pool, the candle stand may get cracks due to prolonged heating.

  • Elude the condition of uneven burning
  • We suggest avoiding vents, and air currents to curb excessive flaring, sooting, and uneven burning. Place burning candles at least 3 inches apart from each other to escape melting the wax of other candles and wearing them away.

  • Refill your candle for persistency
  • Our custom-made candle refills are designed to fit perfectly inside your Pott. Our candle refills are made using natural rapeseed and coconut wax, 100% natural essential oils, and sustainable fragrance oils. Our refills are 80g and have a 20 hour burn time. Please note that these are candle refills, designed specifically for Pott. They should not be burnt as standalone candles or in other containers, as this may pose a fire risk.
